Contract Duration: 6 months
Worksite Location: Minneapolis, MN (fully onsite)

What you’ll do as the Digital Fabrications Specialist:

Be responsible primarily for the operation, maintenance, and workflow of projects through our digital fabrication space and equipment
Be a point person and subject matter expert on the use and upkeep of CNC, Laser Cutter, and 3D Printers
Collaborate with our design and fabrication teams to evaluate project requirements and material selection
Create a plan for the digital fabrication process ensuring the final products meet design specifications and client standards
Contribute to our culture of transparency and learning by advocating for and increasing institutional knowledge and proficiency in use of the digital fabrication equipment
Contribute to the creation of templates, safety protocols, and best practices to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues
Keep up to date on emerging digital fabrication technologies/techniques and propose innovative solutions to continually improve production processes

What you’ll bring to the Digital Fabrications Specialist role:

4-year bachelor’s degree or 2-year technical degree with equivalent experience
5+ years’ experience working in or supervising a small to midsized shop with digital and traditional fabrication equipment
Ability to maintain and troubleshoot digital fabrication equipment to ensure they are operating at peak performance
Ability to collaborate cross-functionally to turn ambiguous ideas into reality
Ability to work constructively and positively under tight timelines with a great team that does the same
Fluency in CAD and CAM packages with the ability to learn new packages as needed (Initially Autodesk Fusion 360)
Ability to organize, document, and share knowledge with others on the safety and usage of digital fabrication tools and equipment
Ability to routinely and predictably increase process efficiency through planned projects and efforts
Ability to balance workload and life to execute projects within a normal workday and to articulate concerns when challenges arise
