Operations Manager Job Description
It is the primary role of the Operations Manager to ensure the smooth and continuous business operations of the Company. Responsibilities include supervising employees and managing all administrative activities and ongoing business operation needs. Additional responsibilities may include assisting advisors in strategic planning and other business activities. This is an exempt position and reports to the partners of the firm.
What you will do as the Operations Manager:
- Develop and maintain job descriptions, policies, procedures, and staff recognition program
- Plan, prepare, and devise work schedules, according to budgets and workloads
- Review compensation and variable pay plans to ensure they are appropriate relative to local marketplace
- Administer performance reviews with staff and recommend salary increases when appropriate
- Conduct onboarding, orientation, and develop and oversee training for employees
- Maintain records to monitor and evaluate training activities and program effectiveness
- Monitor and report on staff related training and licensing expenses to ensure expenditures are justified and aligned with budget
- Oversee licensing and continuing education procedures, policies and practices
- Coordinate and oversee committee work and progress
- Prepare, maintain, and submit reports and records, such as operational and personnel reports
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5+ years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Proficient in Contact Management Systems, Word, Excel, and general computer applications
- Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations and respond well to others; resolve conflict
- Ability to work well with a team and balance individual responsibilities
- Willingness to give and welcome feedback for overall growth
- Display original thinking and creativity, meeting challenges with resourcefulness
- Excellent written and oral communication
- Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
