About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Oracle Systems Administrator to support a leading provider in the renewable energy industry. This role focuses on Oracle Cloud SaaS and PaaS environments, playing a critical part in the transition to a self-managed Oracle cloud infrastructure. You will join an ERP team of approximately 20 professionals during an integration phase, with opportunities to take on a leadership role as the organization moves toward go-live and expands globally. While this position is remote, candidates based in California are preferred for occasional onsite collaboration.
Job Description
As a Oracle Systems Administrator, you will design, implement, and manage Oracle Cloud infrastructure and applications. You will work closely with development teams to support CI/CD processes, automate workflows, and ensure high availability, security, scalability, and performance of Oracle Cloud environments. This role requires hands-on expertise and the ability to provide technical leadership as the team grows.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, configure, and manage Oracle Cloud environments, focusing on SaaS and PaaS offerings.
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for Oracle Cloud applications.
- Automate processes and workflows to reduce manual interventions and improve efficiency.
- Monitor and optimize Oracle Cloud infrastructure for performance and availability.
- Collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot infrastructure-related issues.
- Maintain documentation for Oracle Cloud architecture and best practices.
- Stay current with Oracle Cloud technologies and recommend improvements.
- Implement security policies and procedures to safeguard cloud environments.
- Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and offshore teams.
- Plan and execute disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
- Configure and manage Oracle Autonomous Databases, including performance tuning and backup strategies.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps or cloud infrastructure management, with proven expertise in Oracle Cloud SaaS and PaaS environments.
- Strong knowledge of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and SaaS applications (ERP, SCM, EPM, WMS).
- Proficiency in scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash) and IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible).
- Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Oracle Visual Builder Studio) and version control systems (Git).
- Ability to work with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure APIs for monitoring and alerting.
- Familiarity with performance tuning and troubleshooting using monitoring tools.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Relevant certifications in Oracle Cloud, DevOps, or cloud computing.
- Knowledge of Oracle Cloud security frameworks, including SSO and user authentication.
