Sales Representative Job Description
In this inbound call role, you will consult customers on their insurance needs and match the correct coverages, products, and benefits. All Sales Representatives (internal) will be required to have an insurance license.
What you’ll do as the Sales Representative:
- Answer incoming phone calls from prospective members and identify the type of assistance and information the customer needs
- Follow up with members on questions or to review current or new products and services
- Navigate multiple computer systems to document member information while maintaining active listening and engagement with members
- Demonstrate knowledge of the product portfolio by addressing the needs of members, explaining the differences between products, and assisting in the selection of products to best meet their needs
- Assist in the completion of the enrollment application over the phone, staying consistent with product requirements and enrollment guidelines
- Meet the goals established for the position in the areas of Sales Quota performance, attendance, and consumer experience
- Meet and maintain requirements for agent licensure, appointments, and annual product certification
What you’ll bring to the Sales Representative role:
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or 4+ years of customer service/sales experience
- Ability to obtain appropriate state licenses (may be completed during training)
- Familiarity with computer and Windows PC applications, which includes the ability to learn new and complex computer system applications
- Strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking skills, and the ability to multi-task
- Previous sales experience is preferred
