We are partnering with a well-established, independent insurance agency serving individuals and families with tailored personal insurance solutions. The firm is known for its client-focused approach, strong carrier relationships, and commitment to long-term risk management.
On behalf of our client, we are seeking a Personal Lines Account Manager to support and grow a book of business by delivering exceptional service, building trusted client relationships, and identifying opportunities to add value through proactive coverage management.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with clients, collaborating with carriers, and contributing to a team-oriented insurance environment.
Job Description
The Personal Lines Account Manager is responsible for managing and servicing personal insurance accounts while identifying opportunities for retention, cross-sell, and account expansion. This position acts as a key point of contact for clients and carriers and ensures coverage needs are met accurately and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of personal lines insurance products and coverage options
- Serve as the primary service contact for assigned clients, promptly addressing inquiries and resolving issues
- Develop and maintain long-term relationships with clients and carrier partners
- Identify coverage gaps, manage client risk, and recommend appropriate solutions
- Negotiate with carrier underwriters on behalf of clients
- Support client retention through proactive remarketing and policy reviews
- Prepare and present insurance quotes and proposals in accordance with agency standards
- Review assigned book of business to identify account rounding and growth opportunities
- Accurately prepare binders, invoices, certificates, policy changes, and other service documents
- Assist producers with onboarding new clients and accounts
- Maintain accurate client records in the agency management system and electronic files
- Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and carrier-sponsored education
- Contribute ideas for process improvement and operational efficiency
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Associate degree (or equivalent professional experience)
- 1–2 years of experience in a customer-facing role
- Â Property & Casualty insurance license or willingness obtain
- Experience using an agency management system
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- 1–2 years of experience in the insurance industry, particularly personal lines
- Experience working with multiple insurance carriers and rating systems
