Business Development Representative

- Worksite Location: Plymouth, MN
- Compensation: $65,000 annually + commission
What you’ll do as the Business Development Representative:
- Generate new accounts using various prospecting methods including cold-calling, in-person, email, and referrals
- Meet with customers, shippers, receivers, and present solutions
- Build trust and rapport with a prospect through expertise and dialogue
- Provide tailored solutions that provide value and drive long-term business relationships
- Stay current with market trends and competitor actions for strategic planning
- Understand and research your prospects business, pain points, and solutions
- Determine and negotiate competitive rates for quoting and securing freight
- Provide realistic pipeline and revenue forecasting for new and existing business
- Respond to, and manage, RFQ/RFP requests
- Travel for networking and business expansion as needed
- Drive strategic partnerships for revenue growth, increase profitability, and collaborate across departments to enhance customer experience
What you’ll bring to the Business Development Representative role:
- Some professional experience preferably in a sales role
- Ability to identify what a prospect needs by asking the right questions
- Basic understanding of problems prospects frequently experiences and solutions you would recommend for solving those issues
- Ability to work well with a team
- Results-driven and self-starter attitude
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft 365, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Excel
