- Contract Duration:Â 5-months
- Worksite Location:Â Minnetonka, MN or Madison, WI
- Compensation: $55.00-$70.00 per hour
What you will do as an Underwriter Consultant:
- Manage financial analysis and underwriting for large group fully-insured commercial health insurance customers
- Apply underwriting risk and pricing guidelines to evaluate new and renewing accounts
- Assess risk, project future costs, and develop pricing recommendations aligned with financial objectives
- Collaborate closely with sales teams to deliver pricing rationale and support strategic renewal planning
- Communicate underwriting decisions and strategies clearly to both internal and external stakeholders
- Interpret complex data to deliver actionable insights and support sound business decision-making
- Monitor and adapt to market trends to ensure competitive underwriting strategies
What you will bring to the Underwriter Consultant role:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3+Â years of underwriting experience, ideally in healthcare and focused on large group pricing
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical thinking, sound business judgment, and the ability to make independent decisions
- Proven ability to build strong relationships and work cross-functionally
- Experience with pricing and RFP processes
