About the Role
We are partnering with a large, nationally recognized insurance brokerage and consulting organization to identify a Commercial Lines Assistant Account Manager to support its specialty insurance practice. This firm operates across specialized industry platforms and local offices, delivering tailored risk management and insurance solutions through innovative strategies and high-touch client service.
This role supports Producers and the service team in managing existing commercial insurance accounts and assisting with new business initiatives. The Assistant Account Manager plays a key part in day-to-day client servicing, policy administration, and renewal activity. Depending on experience, the position may also include independent responsibility for servicing and retaining assigned accounts and policies.
This opportunity sits within a specialty insurance division, offering exposure to complex commercial risks and a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Job Description
  • Package and market insurance applications to carriers to obtain competitive quotes
  • Assist with negotiating pricing, commissions, and coverage terms with carriers
  • Review insurance policies, identify coverage gaps, and recommend appropriate solutions
  • Manage the renewal process for expiring policies
  • Review client accounting history, respond to billing inquiries, and help resolve discrepancies, including assisting with collections on past-due accounts
  • Bind insurance coverage and prepare binders
  • Assist with client presentations and proposal preparation
  • Gather and compile underwriting information for applications
  • Research and respond to underwriting inquiries
  • Draft correspondence to clients and insurance carriers
  • Enter applications and prepare letters, certificates, and other documentation
  • Prepare draft certificate templates for internal review and approval
  • Analyze certificate requests to ensure compliance with client and contractual requirements
  • Maintain accurate records in the agency management system, following data integrity standards
  • Provide general administrative and account support as needed

Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 4–6 years of experience in commercial insurance or a related role
  • Active P & C insurance license
  • Ability to maintain continuing education requirements for license renewal
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service and client interaction skills
  • Effective problem-solving, organization, and time-management abilities
  • Intermediate typing skills (approximately 30–35 WPM)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
Preferred
  • Experience supporting commercial lines producers or service teams
  • Prior hands-on experience with binders, certificates, policy updates, and renewal documentation
  • Familiarity with agency management systems
  • Background in specialty or complex commercial insurance lines
