Seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Financial Controller to join our team. - Worksite Location: Litchfield, MN
- Compensation: $60,000 - $80,000 annually
Financial Controller Job Description:
Seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Financial Controller to join our team. This candidate will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities of the company, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing strategic financial guidance to the leadership team. This position will report to and work closely with the Chief Financial Officer.
What you will do as a Financial Controller:
- Develop and maintain financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning
- Analyze financial data and present insights to aid in decision-making
- Managing fixed assets and construction in progress
- Due diligence in the acquisition of new companies
- Prepare and present accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Analyze statements for cost savings opportunities
- Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Establish and monitor effective internal controls to safeguard company assets
- Implement and maintain accounting policies and procedures
- Manage cash flow and liquidity, making recommendations for improvement
- Supervise and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement
- Coordinate cross-functional collaboration to achieve financial goals
- Work closely with external tax advisors to ensure compliance with all tax regulations including sale tax filings
- Identify opportunities for tax optimization
- Work closely with Human Resources to process payroll
What you will bring to the role as a Financial Controller:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred
- 6+ years of progressive experience in financial management roles, preferably in manufacturing and securities/private equity fields
- Thorough knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in financial modeling and analysis
- Experience with QuickBooks and Microsoft Suite
