Worksite Location: Grand Forks or Fargo, ND | Hybrid
Compensation: $90,000-$110,000 for experienced Cost Accountant
- $65-75k for junior level accountant

What you’ll do as the Cost Accountant:

Develop and maintain the cost accounting system, documents, and records of the organization
Analyze and recommend costs and cost savings
Prepare and complete internal cost audits
Comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements
Analyze the data collected and log a detailed record of the results
Analyze any changes in goods or services provided in order to determine what effect it has on the cost
Analyze production costs and prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs
Make estimates of new and proposed product costs
Provide management with reports that specify and compare factors that affect prices and profitability of products or services
Assist in audits and general ledger preparation
Conduct physical inventories and monitor the cycle count program

What you’ll bring to the Cost Accountant role:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
5+ years relevant accounting experience (production, manufacturing, railroad preferred)
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Acumatica, Ramp and ADP)
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
Good communication skills, both written and verbal
Thorough knowledge of accounting procedures
In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Computer literacy, MS Excel in particular (familiarity with VLOOKUPs and pivot tables)
