The EBI (Enterprise Business Intelligence) environment is expanding data analytics, reporting, and visualization offerings by introducing MS Power BI to the suite. This contracted resource is needed to bring expertise and best practices to the EBI in-house operations team in the configuration, implementation, and administration of the Power BI platform. Â

- Contract Duration: 12 months
- Worksite Location: Concord, NH
The EBI (Enterprise Business Intelligence) environment is expanding data analytics, reporting, and visualization offerings by introducing MS Power BI to the suite. This contracted resource is needed to bring expertise and best practices to the EBI in-house operations team in the configuration, implementation, and administration of the Power BI platform. Â
What you’ll do as an EBI Applications Technical Specialist:
- Responsible for implementing, maintaining, and growing the PowerBI platform
- Administer Microsoft Power BI platform and On-Premise Gateway, lead implementation planning, and configuration
- Perform initial configurations and implementation of Microsoft Power BI architecture in coordination with the EBI management team
- Review and expand any existing usage standards, processes, or training materials as part of implementation
- Administer Microsoft Power BI platform and On-Premise Gateway, lead upgrade planning, configuration, and capacity planning
- Guide Power BI Dashboard developers and other colleagues during dashboard development using Power BI and DAX to establish and promote best practices for dashboard and data set development and publishing (location, layout, dataset access, DAX usage, security, performance tuning, naming conventions)
- Optimize Workspaces and datasets to promote ease of self-service, and provide a secure, structured organization of workspaces, apps, data sets, and dashboards
- Establish monitoring and service performance reporting together with EBI operational teams.
- Develop and implement automation of promotion and deployment/publishing of data dashboards, data sets, and refreshes through Broadcom’s CA Workload, PowerShell scripting, and other means
- Assess, build, and optimize new and existing reports and data visualization dashboard prototypes using Power BI and DAX as required to triage issues, or to recommend improvements
- 3+ years of PowerBI experience
- Must have a solid understanding of Power BI security (access control, data row-level security, use of roles to control sharing, publishing, and data export)
- Proficiency in SQL and experience in relational databases/data warehouses (Oracle, SQL Server)
- Ability to troubleshoot complex data problems
- Strong analytical skills with a focus on detail, thoroughness, and quality
- Ability to see long-term analytical business needs as the primary focus
