About the Role
Our firm is partnering with a leading enterprise retail organization to hire a Hardware Management Specialist supporting large-scale technology operations. This role is based in a centralized hardware depot environment that services store locations, distribution centers, and corporate offices across a national footprint.
This position plays a critical role in ensuring the availability, tracking, and fulfillment of non-retail technology hardware, including point-of-sale systems, mobility devices, and camera equipment. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, operational setting and is highly detail-oriented with a strong foundation in inventory management and technical support processes.
Job Description
The Hardware Management Specialist is responsible for fulfilling hardware-related requests, maintaining accurate inventory records, and supporting the lifecycle of technology equipment. This includes handling the receipt, configuration, tracking, and shipment of devices across multiple platforms.
This is an on-site warehouse-style role operating Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, requiring collaboration with internal teams and end users to ensure timely and accurate hardware support.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Fulfill hardware requests by picking, packing, and shipping equipment to various locations
  • Receive, stock, and organize incoming hardware inventory
  • Track and reconcile inventory using internal systems to ensure accuracy
  • Configure hardware and apply firmware as needed
  • Process warranties and manage returns for defective equipment
  • Maintain detailed and accurate reporting within inventory systems
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to understand hardware needs and user impact
  • Build strong working relationships across operational and technical teams
Typical time allocation:
  • 60% hardware fulfillment (picking, packing, shipping)
  • 25% inventory tracking and reconciliation
  • 15% configuration and firmware application

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • Ability to lift and move pallets and packages weighing 25 lbs. or more
  • Strong computer literacy and comfort working with inventory systems
  • Proven experience with inventory management and tracking processes
  • High attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate, systematic reporting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong relationship-building skills and ability to collaborate effectively
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical capabilities
  • Ability to work independently in environments with ambiguity and minimal oversight
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Interest in learning and working with evolving technology hardware
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with inventory management systems and warehouse operations
  • Familiarity with shipping, receiving, and packaging processes (including various packaging types)
  • Experience using tools such as ServiceNow, Excel, or SharePoint
  • Technical degree or related educational background
  • Experience working in a corporate or large enterprise environment
