Our firm is supporting a leading global enterprise in the science, manufacturing, and innovations sector in identifying a highly skilled Workday Configurations Specialist with deep expertise in Workers’ Compensation and Benefits. This position plays a critical role in designing, optimizing, and maintaining Workday solutions that support large-scale, complex HR operations across a global footprint.

Job Description
As a Workday Configurations Specialist, you will serve as the primary expert for advanced configuration across Workers’ Compensation and Benefits. You will be responsible for end-to-end solution design, governance, testing leadership, and the continuous enhancement of Workday capabilities.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams—including HR, Total Rewards, IT, and global business partners—to ensure the Workday platform delivers scalable, compliant, and intuitive employee experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Workday Expertise & Solution Design
- Lead advanced configuration design across Workers’ Compensation and Benefits.
- Translate complex business requirements into scalable, user-focused Workday solutions.
- Ensure compliance with governance standards, global regulatory requirements, and data privacy policies.
- Create streamlined, efficient processes and workflows that enhance employee and manager experience.
- Collaborate with technical teams on integrations, EIBs, data flows, and security models.
- Drive evaluation and adoption of Workday releases and emerging capabilities.
- Identify automation, simplification, and user-experience improvement opportunities.
- Research HR technology trends to shape long-term Workday strategy.
- Recommend enhancements to support evolving HR and business needs.
- Lead plan-to-deploy activities for Workday enhancements and roadmap initiatives.
- Oversee structured testing cycles including planning, script creation, execution, and defect resolution.
- Maintain documentation, configuration controls, and audit readiness.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to HR Technology Analysts and project teams.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to HR leaders and global business partners.
- Facilitate design sessions, workshops, and decision-making discussions.
- Translate technical concepts into clear, actionable insights.
- Ensure alignment across HR Operations, Total Rewards, Talent, IT, and external partners.
- Lead resolution of complex break/fix issues within Workers’ Compensation and Benefits.
- Conduct QA reviews and oversee regression testing for releases.
- Ensure integration accuracy and reliability.
- Promote user-centric design principles and optimize HR experiences.
- Deliver training, documentation, and guidance to analysts and business partners.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (completed and verified prior to start).
- 5+ years of HR Technology experience in a private, public, government, or military organization.
- 5+ years of Workday configuration experience in Core HCM within a similar environment.
- Advanced Workday configuration skills across HCM, Advanced Compensation, Benefits, Security, and Reporting.
- Proven experience designing and deploying large-scale, global Workday solutions.
- Strong project management and stakeholder influence skills across senior leadership levels.
- Workday Pro certification.
- Experience with EIBs, HR transformations, M&A or divestiture activities.
- Experience mentoring analysts or leading project teams.
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Power Platform or RPA tools.
