About the Role
Our firm is partnering with a large, digitally mature enterprise operating at national scale within the retail and consumer services industry. This organization is investing heavily in Generative AI and advanced machine learning to unlock insights from complex data and documents, improve decision-making, and accelerate innovation across the business.
We are seeking an experienced Data Scientist (GenAI) to support the design, development, and evaluation of large language model (LLM)–based solutions. This role focuses on applying Generative AI technologies in real-world business contexts, working closely with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, enterprise environment.
Job Description
In this role, you will:
  • Design, develop, and evaluate Generative AI and LLM-based solutions to solve complex business problems
  • Develop and optimize prompt strategies and evaluation techniques for LLM performance and reliability
  • Apply machine learning methods, including supervised and unsupervised techniques, in production scenarios
  • Build and maintain Python-based workflows using common ML and Generative AI libraries
  • Process, parse, analyze, and index complex and unstructured documents
  • Apply traditional image processing techniques where applicable
  • Contribute to initiatives involving retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), including multi-modal data (images, text, documents)
  • Collaborate closely with data scientists, engineers, product partners, and business stakeholders
  • Follow standard software development lifecycle (SDLC) practices, including source control, CI/CD, and Agile methodologies
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of relevant industry experience as a Data Scientist, Machine Learning Engineer, Developer, or Researcher
  • Hands-on experience with Generative AI, large language models (LLMs), prompt engineering, and LLM evaluation techniques
  • Strong proficiency in Python
  • Familiarity with common machine learning and Generative AI frameworks and libraries
  • Expertise in traditional image processing techniques
  • Experience working with complex, unstructured, or semi-structured documents
  • Solid foundation in the mathematical and statistical principles underlying machine learning
  • Demonstrated experience applying ML and AI solutions in a business or enterprise setting
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively across multiple teams
  • Experience with standard industry software development practices, including:
  • Agile or similar development methodologies
  • Source control (e.g., Git)
  • CI/CD pipelines and SDLC fundamentals
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with multi-modal Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions
  • Prior work supporting large-scale, enterprise-level data or AI initiatives
