About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Software Engineer to support a mission-driven organization in the healthcare and nonprofit sector. This role focuses on the development, maintenance, and support of Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) and Oracle Cloud/Fusion applications. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and a passion for building scalable enterprise solutions that support life-saving operations.
This is a remote opportunity with no return-to-office requirement, offering flexibility and meaningful work in a collaborative environment.
Job Description
As a Principal Software Engineer, you will lead the design, development, and support of Oracle EBS and Cloud/Fusion platforms. You’ll work independently and collaboratively to deliver high-quality solutions, mentor team members, and ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to work across technical and functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead system design, scope definition, and software solution development.
- Translate user requirements into technical specifications and system documentation.
- Develop and maintain applications within defined architecture and methodologies.
- Provide production support and troubleshoot system issues.
- Mentor and guide team members; contribute technical expertise across teams.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and Oracle updates.
- Collaborate with infrastructure and service desk teams to resolve issues.
- Create and maintain documentation for application modifications and enhancements.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in software development, including Oracle EBS and Cloud/Fusion platforms.
- Expertise in SQL, PL/SQL, XML, BI Publisher, Oracle Visual Builder Studio, and Linux shell scripting.
- Experience with Oracle Visual Builder StudioÂ
- Strong understanding of Oracle EBS modules including Financials, Procurement, Order Management, and Projects.
- Experience with SOAP, RESTful services, JSON, SOA gateway deployments, and related testing tools (SOAPUI, XMLSpy, POSTMAN).
- Advanced knowledge of Agile methodologies and SDLC.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot, reverse engineer, and support complex Oracle modules.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Experience with WSO2 and Kintana/HP PPM deployment tools.
- Familiarity with Oracle Cloud HCM suite (Core HR, Absence Management, Time and Labor, Compensation, Payroll, etc.).
- Knowledge of Oracle Application Object Library (FND) and reporting tools (OTBI/BI-SQL).
- Experience with Application Express (APEX) and Oracle Application Framework.
