Our client, a leading organization in the insurance and risk management industry, is seeking a Temporary Workers’ Compensation Adjuster to support claims operations. This role is responsible for managing low- to mid-level workers’ compensation claims, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and driving timely, effective resolutions. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders.
Job Description
The Temporary Workers’ Compensation Adjuster will oversee the full lifecycle of assigned claims, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely resolution. This role develops action plans, collaborates with internal and external partners, and supports injured employees through the claims process.
- Review and evaluate workers’ compensation claims to determine compensability and appropriate benefits
- Establish and manage reserves, ensuring accurate levels and proper documentation in accordance with regulations
- Develop and execute claim action plans to drive timely and effective resolutions
- Coordinate return-to-work efforts, including identifying modified duty opportunities
- Communicate with claimants, employers, medical providers, and legal representatives throughout the claims process
- Approve claim payments, manage subrogation, and negotiate settlements as needed
- Prepare medical examination assignments, correspondence, and legal documentation
- Maintain strong working relationships with vendors and stakeholders while delivering excellent service
- Ensure data integrity by maintaining accurate and complete records within agency management systems
- Support quality assurance initiatives to promote consistent and high-quality claims handling
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3+ years of experience in workers’ compensation claims adjusting
- Required licenses and/or certifications in accordance with state regulations
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Experience managing low- to mid-level indemnity claims with demonstrated success in resolution timelines
- Familiarity with return-to-work programs and modified duty planning
- Experience working with multiple stakeholders, including legal and medical professionals
