- Worksite Location: Rosemount, MN
This position offers an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for virtualization, Windows Server administration, and IT infrastructure management. The successful candidate will contribute to the design, implementation, monitoring, and support of our VMware virtualization environment and Windows Server infrastructure.
What you’ll do as the Junior VMware/Windows Server Administrator:
- Assist in the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of VMware virtualization platforms, including vSphere, vCenter, and associated components
- Collaborate with the team to manage Windows Server environments, ensuring optimal performance, security, and availability
- Participate in the planning and execution of server migrations, upgrades, and patches to ensure a stable and up-to-date infrastructure
- Monitor system health and performance, proactively identifying and resolving issues to minimize downtime and ensure a reliable IT environment
- Assist in managing and troubleshooting network connectivity and storage solutions within the virtualized environment
- Contribute to the implementation of backup and disaster recovery strategies to safeguard critical data and applications
- Collaborate with other IT teams to support end-users and resolve technical issues related to virtual machines, applications, and Windows Server systems
- Document configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps for internal knowledge base and training purposes
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
- Basic understanding of VMware virtualization technologies, including vSphere and vCenter
- Familiarity with Windows Server operating systems (Windows Server 2016 and newer) and related technologies
- Strong troubleshooting skills and a logical approach to problem-solving
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment
- A desire to learn and grow in the field of virtualization and server administration
