Our client is a well-established manufacturer of precision hydraulic components and solutions serving a diverse range of industries, including aerospace, oil and gas, heavy equipment, transportation, and industrial manufacturing. They are seeking a proactive and results-driven Lead Generation Specialist to support business growth by identifying, researching, and qualifying new customer opportunities.
This position is focused exclusively on outbound prospecting and lead generation. The successful candidate will engage potential customers, uncover application needs, qualify opportunities, and schedule meetings for the sales and technical teams. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships, conducting market research, and creating opportunities through strategic outreach.

Job Description
As a Lead Generation Specialist, you will play a critical role in expanding market presence and supporting sales growth through proactive prospecting and customer engagement. You will work closely with sales, engineering, and marketing teams to identify organizations that can benefit from the company's hydraulic manufacturing capabilities and product offerings.
Responsibilities
  • Research target industries, OEMs, distributors, and manufacturers that utilize hydraulic components and related systems.
  • Identify and engage key decision-makers within engineering, purchasing, supply chain, operations, and product management functions.
  • Conduct outbound prospecting through phone calls, email campaigns, LinkedIn, and other professional networking channels.
  • Qualify prospective customers and identify applications that align with the company's products and manufacturing capabilities.
  • Schedule introductory meetings and product discussions for sales and application engineering teams.
  • Maintain ongoing follow-up with prospects until opportunities are qualified or disqualified.
  • Build and maintain target account lists to support strategic business growth initiatives.
  • Research market trends, industry developments, and competitive activity.
  • Support trade show follow-up efforts and marketing campaigns through customer outreach.
  • Maintain accurate prospect records, activity logs, and opportunity information within CRM systems.
  • Document customer requirements, applications, and communication history.
  • Provide regular pipeline updates and activity reporting.
  • Collaborate with sales, engineering, and marketing teams to ensure a seamless transition of qualified opportunities.

Qualifications
Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent; combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
  • 2+ years of experience in lead generation, business development, inside sales, customer service, or a related customer-facing role.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and follow-up skills.
  • Ability to confidently initiate conversations with prospective customers.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and capable of working independently.
  • Strong research and prospecting abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and CRM software.
  • Ability to learn technical product information and communicate value propositions effectively.
  • Professional phone presence and strong interpersonal skills.
Preferred
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting B2B sales initiatives within a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic systems, industrial products, distribution channels, or OEM customer markets.
  • Experience with ERP systems and marketing automation platforms.
  • Ability to identify customer applications and uncover new business opportunities.
  • Strong active listening and consultative questioning skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build rapport and establish relationships with business stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting industries such as aerospace, oil and gas, heavy equipment, transportation, or industrial manufacturing.
