About the Role
Our firm is partnering with a well-established, national retail organization known for its strong design culture and trend-driven product development to identify a Design Assistant / Associate Designer. This role supports the design team in building forward-looking, consumer-focused collections and offers hands-on exposure to the full design process within a fast-paced retail environment.
Job Description
The Design Assistant / Associate Designer will provide creative and organizational support to the design team, contributing to trend research, concept development, and day-to-day design operations. This role requires a strong interest in fashion trends, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Researching brands, market trends, and seasonal inspiration
- Collecting and organizing trend intelligence and visual references
- Supporting the development of category trends, color stories, and thematic direction
- Assisting with sample management, tracking, and on-site organization
- Creating and updating visual presentations and collaboration boards using tools such as Spark and Miro
- Partnering with cross-functional teams to support the design workflow
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in fashion design, design support, or a related field
- Strong research, organizational, and communication skills
- Proficiency with digital collaboration and presentation tools (e.g., Spark, Miro)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or a related discipline
- Experience supporting design teams within a retail or consumer goods environment
- Familiarity with trend forecasting and sample coordination processes
