Master Scheduler
Job Description
- Worksite Location: Winsted, MN
The Master Scheduler is responsible for the master schedule of the assigned Business Unit and provides detailed department schedules finding the balance between operations’ capacity and customer delivery expectations.
What you’ll do as the Master Scheduler:
- Develop master production schedule for the assigned business group including flow through operational work departmentsÂ
- Determine the need for material and capacity to address expected demand, execute the resulting plans, and update planning and financial information to reflect the results
- Schedule a timetable of events and decide when and where certain events will occur
- Establish the demand and planning time fences
- Interface with customer team to ensure alignment between schedule and customer requirements
- Lead planning team toward providing visibility and accuracy to an operationally achievable plan
- Consistently search for methods to develop an agile and committed departmental workforce
- Drive alignment and improvement of shop floor transaction discipline
- Create the rough-cut capacity plan by working with Operations and Supply Chain to ensure the schedule derived is achievable considering internal and external capacity
- Incorporate planning decisions to reduce material and product variability
- Bachelor of Arts or Science degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain, or other Business programs
- Certification in APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) preferred
- 5+ years of related experience
- Close understanding and practical knowledge of a company’s manufacturing processes and equipment capabilities
- Understand the output of materials requirement planning (MRP), capacity management, and advanced planning system technologies
- Demonstrated ability to calculate nominal and demonstrated productive capacities
- Understand the planning requirements for managing make-to-stock and make-to-order manufacturing environments
- Understand the concept of forecast consumption by actual sales orders
- Understand the tasks in managing available-to-promise and capable-to-promise portion of the master schedule
- Education or experience with statistics, math, analytical thinking, supply chain fundamentals, and operations and enterprise economics
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Software: Word, Excel, and Outlook
