  • Contract Project: 3 months
  • Worksite Location: Remote
  • Hourly Rate: $19.00/hr
  • Hours: Five - 8 hour shifts during the week, between 7am - 6pm CST
  • Training: 2 weeks - Monday - Friday, 8am - 4:30pm CST
  • Note: Experience with Adobe Pro required. 
 
What you’ll do as the Medical Record Retrieval Specialist:
  • Coordinate and implement activities supporting accurate and timely document management, adherence to tight project timelines, and protection of PHI
  • Support the team by requesting, retrieving, processing, tracking, and organizing incoming Medical Records which will be reviewed by the clinical or coding teams
  • Retrieval of medical records via fax, mail, remote electronic medical record access, or onsite visits at the provider location
  • Assist internal team and provider groups to troubleshoot any logistical or technical issues regarding records requests, retrieval, or storage
  • Effectively communicate with team members and external providers to ensure adherence to challenging project timelines
  • Identify process issues and contribute to the design of solutions
  • Proactively implement process improvements
  • Complete additional tasks as required to support the project

What you’ll bring to the Medical Record Retrieval Specialist role:
  • Associate Degree in Health Information or related field
  • 1+ years of relevant experience
  • Recent document management experience; including experience using Adobe Pro, scanners, flash drives, navigating a shared drive and document repository
  • Highly developed interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills, and ability to prioritize responsibilities with attention to detail
  • Strong follow-through skills and a solutions-oriented attitude
  • Detail-oriented, with the ability to organize and track information and documents
  • Experience in using Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, etc.
  • Ability to learn computer-based tracking and data collection tools
  • Proficient with navigating and retrieving clinical information from an electronic medical record
  • Knowledge of clinical documentation layout and experience with Medical Records
