The New Business Development Manager will own the new-dealer development process from initial prospecting through signed partnership and successful launch. This is a results-oriented sales role focused on building a strong pipeline, understanding prospective dealers' business needs, presenting compelling solutions, overcoming objections, and converting qualified prospects into productive long-term partners.
This position requires approximately 50% travel throughout the territory, including Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Nebraska, South Dakota, and other identified markets. The selected candidate must reside within the assigned territory and have the ability to work remotely when not traveling.
Job Description
As the New Business Development Manager, you will develop new business opportunities, establish relationships with prospective dealers, and help expand the organization's presence across existing and emerging markets. You will work closely with prospective partners throughout the sales cycle while collaborating with internal teams to ensure new dealers are successfully onboarded and positioned for long-term success.
Key responsibilities include:
- Identify and prospect high-potential dealers through market research, referrals, industry relationships, trade shows, direct outreach, and other lead-generation methods.
- Develop and maintain a strong network of industry contacts and referral sources to generate new business opportunities.
- Build, maintain, and actively manage a qualified new-business pipeline within the CRM, moving prospects from initial contact through close.
- Establish credibility and develop relationships with business owners and other key decision-makers.
- Assess prospective dealers' business needs and present relevant products, services, and value propositions.
- Represent the organization at industry conventions, trade shows, trainings, and other events.
- Support and train dealers on available products and services.
- Partner with management to identify potential acquisition opportunities, territories, and new markets.
- Coordinate the onboarding and launch of newly acquired dealers, ensuring an effective transition to internal support resources.
- Monitor new-dealer performance during the initial launch period and take appropriate action to help accounts reach their sales potential.
- Manage the assigned territory by prioritizing opportunities based on revenue potential and likelihood of success.
- Demonstrate and promote the organization's culture, mission, and values.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Approximately 50% travel is required to meet with and train dealers and attend industry trainings, conventions, and trade shows.
- Must be able to work remotely and reside within the assigned territory.
- Must be able to sit for extended periods while traveling.
- Ability to lift items weighing up to 75 pounds, as well as push, pull, kneel, bend, and stand for extended periods.
- Ability to work effectively and maintain composure in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
- A pre-employment physical, drug screening, and criminal background check are required prior to hire.

- 2-3 years of sales experience.
- Demonstrated ability to prospect, develop, and close new business opportunities.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to identify mutually beneficial sales opportunities.
- Ability to establish relationships and build credibility with business owners and key decision-makers.
