- Contract Duration: 12 months
- Worksite Location: Golden Valley, MN | Hybrid
- Compensation: $30.00-$34.00 per hour
What you’ll do as the Certifications Specialist:
- Provide expertise in global claims and certifications, including Organic, Kosher, Halal, Non-GMO, Fair Trade, Gluten Free, RSPO, Whole 30, and Paleo
- Partner with labeling and product development teams to ensure certification requirements are met for new and reformulated products
- Lead corporate audits with third-party certifiers and support plant certification processes
- Oversee and maintain documentation such as ingredient details, formulas, labels, and plant records to ensure compliance with USDA Organic standards, certification bodies, and internal policies
- Build and maintain strong relationships with certifying organizations to streamline submissions, audits, and issue resolution
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, providing guidance on timelines and ensuring smooth execution
- Collaborate with peers to resolve certification issues while minimizing business disruption
- Contribute to process and system improvements for greater efficiency and consistency
What you’ll bring to the Certifications Specialist role:
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Nutrition, Labeling, or a related field
- 1–3+ years of experience in regulatory, quality, or product commercialization
- Strong understanding of product commercialization processes from design to manufacturing
- Knowledge of labeling, certification requirements, and food safety principles
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and represent the company professionally with external partners
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills with a risk-based approach to decision-making
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SharePoint
- Experience balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and driving results through teamwork
