Job Description
The Physical Security – Sales Engineer will be responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining surveillance and access control systems while partnering with clients to deliver effective security solutions. This role requires hands-on technical work, system troubleshooting, and customer interaction to ensure system performance and client satisfaction.
- Design, deploy, and maintain security camera and door access systems for clients
- Monitor system performance, identify issues, and implement solutions to ensure uptime and efficiency
- Support sales efforts by providing technical expertise, system recommendations, and solution design
- Implement backup and disaster recovery solutions to ensure business continuity
- Troubleshoot system issues using diagnostic and monitoring tools
- Provide technical support and guidance to end users, addressing system questions and concerns
- Document configurations, procedures, troubleshooting steps, and client interactions in a ticketing system
- Stay up to date on emerging technologies and recommend system upgrades or enhancements
- Maintain professional communication with clients and internal teams to ensure successful project delivery
- Combination of indoor and outdoor work environments
- Regular use of ladders and/or lifts required
- Hybrid schedule: in-office, remote, and travel throughout Minnesota
- Standard hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (occasional evenings/weekends as needed)
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Physical Security Engineer or in a similar technical role
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, and related technologies
- Experience with system monitoring, troubleshooting, and diagnostic tools
- Familiarity with operating systems such as Windows, macOS, and ChromeOS
- Solid understanding of networking principles and protocols
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support both technical and non-technical users
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a client-facing environment
- Experience working with security system vendors such as Hanwha and March Networks
- Experience supporting or contributing to technical sales processes or solution engineering
- Familiarity with ticketing systems such as ConnectWise
- Experience implementing backup and disaster recovery solutions for security systems
