Principal Developer, Business Intelligence
Job Description
- Worksite Location: Brooklyn Park, MN
- Compensation: $120,000-$150,000 annually upon hire
- Work to develop software solutions to meet client needs including problem definition, process requirements, proposed solutions, and ultimate solution development
- Document and demonstrate solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code
- Prepare, test, and install solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming
- Improve operations by conducting systems analysis, recommending changes in policies and procedures, and identifying enhancements
- Update job knowledge by studying state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques, and computing equipment, and participating in educational opportunities
- Provide information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing development and service issues
- Accomplish engineering and organization mission by completing related results as needed
- Develop software solutions by studying information needs, conferring with users, studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes, investigating problem areas, and following the software development lifecycle
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
- 8+ years of related business intelligence and release planning experience
- Proven ability to lead design and development efforts across multiple data intelligence products and cross functional teams
- Strong experience in writing and performance tuning queries in DAX and SQL
- Strong knowledge of DAX, Power Query (M) and the Power BI service environment
- Experience in Power BI Embedded and Azure Analysis Services required
- Experience with the latest features in Microsoft Fabric including alerting, goal setting, CoPilot and other features
- Demonstrated knowledge of semantic model management via XMLA endpoints using multiple tools
- Demonstrated knowledge of Power Automate, Power BI APIs (to manage workspaces and contents, including scorecards)
- Knowledge of data table design, stored procedures, triggers, maintenance, optimization, indexing
