Principal IT Business System Analyst Job Description
The Principal IT Business System Analyst is responsible for providing application services and support to the global Tennant organization in the SAP Production Planning space. As a member of the IT Team, you will primarily support business areas such as Production Planning, Materials Management, Quality Management, and 3rd party solutions augmenting and expanding SAP capabilities. This role allows working with business users gathering requirements, defining solutions, testing, implementing, and supporting them along the way. You will also be participating in the organizational transformation journey with S4 HANA Implementation.

- Compensation:Â $145,000 per year + 10% bonus
Principal IT Business System Analyst Job Description
The Principal IT Business System Analyst is responsible for providing application services and support to the global Tennant organization in the SAP Production Planning space. As a member of the IT Team, you will primarily support business areas such as Production Planning, Materials Management, Quality Management, and 3rd party solutions augmenting and expanding SAP capabilities. This role allows working with business users gathering requirements, defining solutions, testing, implementing, and supporting them along the way. You will also be participating in the organizational transformation journey with S4 HANA Implementation.
What you’ll do as the Principal IT Business System Analyst:
- Responsible for gathering business requirements and documenting them into business requirement documents, user stories, and functional specifications.
- Create detailed specifications and process flows to provide direction to application developers
- Develop functional, integration, regression, and test plans
- Analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing business processes and business requests, and recommend solutions using system standards and best practices
- Support, assist, and train the users on new modified system configurations highlighting the impact on business processes
- Work closely with Managers, Executives, Onsite team, and Offshore team to ensure the release of high-quality solutions
- Maintain IT Business system integrity and application notes, system upgrades, changes, and user updates
- Demonstrate good communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve system issues to maximize the benefit of IT systems
- 10+ years of SAP ERP Business Systems Analysis experience with a focus on SAP Production Planning, Materials, and Quality Management
- Experience with SAP Engineering Change Control and Variant Configuration capabilities
- Strong cross-module functional knowledge between Logistics and Supply Chain
- Knowledge of external manufacturing support applications such as visual work instructions, asset labeling, etc.
- Experience working with business end users, gathering requirements, building detailed functional design specifications, testing and coordinating the delivery of features and functionality
- Familiarity with Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) processes
- Excellent verbal/written communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills
