About the Role
We are partnering with a growing organization in the Professional Employer Organization (PEO) industry that provides comprehensive HR, payroll, benefits, and retirement solutions to employers and their worksite employees. This organization is expanding its retirement services and is seeking a knowledgeable and client-focused Retirement Plan Specialist to support its growing client base.
This position plays a key role in delivering retirement plan support across multiple organizations and locations. The role is centered on education, administration, and client support—not investment advising or fiduciary decision-making. The ideal candidate enjoys working in a service-oriented environment, can clearly communicate complex retirement concepts, and builds strong relationships with both clients and plan participants.
Job Description
In this role, you will act as a key liaison between clients, employees, and internal service teams to ensure retirement plans are implemented and administered effectively. You will support multiple plans and locations, helping drive employee participation and engagement through clear, compliant communication and education. This position requires a detail-oriented, relationship-driven professional who can balance administrative responsibilities with proactive client support while maintaining a high level of accuracy and service quality.
Client Support & Consultation
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for client communications related to retirement plans
  • Consult with clients on plan design options that align with business needs and compliance standards
  • Partner with internal payroll, HR, and benefits teams to ensure smooth implementation and ongoing coordination
Plan Implementation & Administration
  • Oversee onboarding and implementation of retirement plans for new clients and locations
  • Support ongoing administration, including eligibility, contributions, distributions, and compliance
  • Assist with testing, reporting, and audit coordination as needed
  • Ensure accurate data flow between payroll systems, recordkeepers, and vendors
Employee Education & Engagement
  • Conduct employee education meetings and enrollment sessions (virtual and in person)
  • Explain plan features, participation options, and retirement concepts in a clear, approachable way
  • Serve as a resource for employee questions related to plan participation, contributions, loans, and distributions
Industry Knowledge & Continuous Improvement
  • Stay current on retirement plan trends, regulations, and best practices
  • Identify opportunities to improve plan offerings and client experience
  • Support internal training and assist in developing educational materials
Role Scope & Compliance
  • This role does not provide individualized investment advice
  • All communication must follow established compliance guidelines
  • Focus is on education and administrative support, not sales or fiduciary decision-making

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • Active or ability to obtain 401(k) / retirement plan-related licensure
  • Strong presentation and communication skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences
  • Ability and willingness to learn complex retirement plan concepts, including design and compliance
  • Professionalism with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple clients and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable leading employee education sessions and explaining complex topics clearly
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Experience in a PEO, payroll, benefits administration, or financial services environment
  • Experience supporting retirement plans across multiple worksite locations
  • Series 7 or Series 65 licensure
