- Worksite Location: Dubuque, IA
- Prioritize and coordinate work activities between safety and business unit leaders to identify safety initiatives and action plans to improve safety performance
- Manage and coordinate environmental programs at the facility including the completion of environmental inspections, and routine tasks including monitoring, testing, and data collection
- Develop, lead, and manage safety projects based on identified business annual objectives and prioritized safety needs
- Supervise staff in a related functional area that may include environmental, health services, or workers’ comp
- Ensure site-specific compliance activities are being met in partnership with Enterprise-level functional leadership and support staff, set schedules, assign work, and monitor performance
- Ensure that direct reports have the knowledge, skills, and resources necessary to perform their jobs
- Lead efforts to build and sustain a behavior-based safety culture
- Conduct safety and environmental evaluations with site management and assist in the execution of corrective actions
- Train supervisors and support staff accordingly to support various environmental and safety programs
- Work with site leadership and manufacturing engineering to conduct safety assessments of new or modified equipment/processes in accordance with the company’s Safety Assessment Procedure
- Analyze safety performance indicators to identify trends and loss activities and assist in prioritizing appropriate countermeasures
- Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree preferred) in Safety Engineering, Environmental Management, or related discipline or the equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3+ years of formal leadership experience managing direct reports
- 5+ years of experience in the safety field and/or environmental management preferably within manufacturing
- Technical knowledge/experience of OSHA, EPA, NFPA, NEC, ANSI, code regulations and compliance Â
- Proven track record of successfully delivering outstanding results
- Experience leading behavior-based safety programsÂ
- Ability to develop a strong team through ongoing coaching and development
- Strategic planning and aligning organizational goals with safety initiatives
