Job Description
- Worksite Location:Â Hybrid Monday/Friday, Milford, IA
- Salary Range:Â $90,000-$110,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications
- Work type:Â Permanent/Direct Employment
The Senior Accountant plays a critical role in ensuring the delivery of timely, relevant cost and financial information to key stakeholders, including business partners, Corporate Accounting, and internal auditors.Â
This position also ensures sufficient internal controls to assure that financial results are of a high standard and meet all GAAP requirements. The successful candidate will be able to build and maintain strong relationships with business partners to deliver guidance and to provide a financial perspective to operations. This position is also responsible for identifying and driving process improvements that will help drive scale, improve financial accuracy, and drive business understanding.
What you’ll do as a Senior Accountant:
- Partner with Manufacturing Operations, Supply Chain, and other COE’s to establish the processes which will deliver accurate financial results
- Own standard cost, labor and overhead rates and support the related accounting and audit process
- Prepare KPIs and other business indicators as part of our financial reporting process
- Examine and develop management reporting for material and labor variances, drive solutions to reduce E&O and scrap
- Identify business risks to financial reporting and support our established accounting and control processes
- Educate cross functional partners and documenting processes to ensure compliance with internal company procedures
- Identify and lead initiatives to continuously improve, automate, and scale reporting tools, processes, and methodologies
- Own monthly / quarterly cost related close cycles to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
- Lead processes to ensure inventory controls are in place within compliance with GAAP and LDI policy including cycle count and physical inventory processes
- Manage the Operations Expense Budget and Forecasting process for plants & distribution centers, leading the operations teams to develop budgets that drive improvement in line with company goals
- Complete reconciliations and reporting related to inventory balances including reserve balances
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting
- 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment with a strong knowledge of standard cost management and operations accounting
- Excellent data analysis and trend identifications skills with the ability to show the impact of past and future decisions on the financial statements.
- Exceptional judgment and creative problem-solving skills
- Ability to travel 3-4 times per year
