Contract Duration: 12 months
Worksite Location: Brooklyn Park, MN
Compensation: $52.00-$82.00 per hour, W2

What you’ll do as the Senior Kotlin Developer:

Build and maintain scalable, cloud-native backend services in Kotlin using the Micronaut framework
Design and implement Kafka-based event-driven architectures for asynchronous data processing
Integrate observability practices including structured logging, metrics instrumentation, and distributed tracing
Develop and automate unit, integration, and contract testing to ensure high production readiness
Collaborate with engineering teams and product managers to deliver secure, scalable solutions
Participate in technical design and architecture discussions
Work independently while adhering to established engineering practices and workflows

What you’ll bring to the Senior Kotlin Developer role:

5+ years of experience in backend software development within large-scale or enterprise environments (Kafka, Kotlin, Micronaut, Spring Boot)
Proficiency in Kotlin and hands-on experience with Micronaut or Spring Boot
Solid knowledge of Apache Kafka, including producers, consumers, and stream processing
Experience implementing observability tools such as OpenTelemetry and Grafana
Strong background in test-driven development and performance testing using tools like JUnit and K6
Familiarity with container technologies and orchestration tools
Passion for clean, maintainable code and high system reliability
