Senior Program Manager - Healthcare Payer
Job Description
- Contract Duration:Â 7 months (Likely to Extend)
- Worksite Location:Â Minnetonka, MN or Madison, WI | Hybrid
- Compensation: $80.00 per hour, W2
- Lead and manage a cross-departmental transformation program aligned with strategic priorities, regulatory mandates, and operational improvement initiatives
- Define program scope, business outcomes, milestones, and resource requirements in partnership with stakeholders from business, finance, and technology teams
- Develop and maintain a critical path and timeline, adapting to shifting priorities and business decisions
- Oversee business case development and support vendor selection processes or build vs. buy decisions
- Coordinate all aspects of program execution including business readiness, process design, communications, and technology delivery
- Facilitate Program Increment (PI) Planning and related agile ceremonies to ensure cross-functional alignment and timely delivery
- Track progress of MVPs and key deliverables; ensure transparency of dependencies, risks, and issues while driving resolution
- Prepare and lead Executive Steering Committee meetings and ensure executive stakeholder alignment and communication
- Manage the program budget and ensure proper allocation of expenditures in coordination with finance and portfolio management
- Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of experience managing large-scale, complex programs, including at least 3 years leading cross-functional teams and project managers
- Deep understanding of payer operations and healthcare, particularly prior authorization workflows, data integrations, and CMS interoperability regulations
- Proven experience managing program budgets of $1M+ and large cross-functional teams of 10–50+ members
- Expertise in Agile delivery methodologies and end-to-end program execution
- Strong executive presence with exceptional communication skills and experience preparing executive-level reporting and presentations
- Experience coordinating with executive stakeholders, business and technology leaders, change managers, and operational readiness teams
- Ability to operate and lead in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment
