We are partnering with a leading global provider of electrical connection and protection solutions to hire a Senior R&D Engineering Project Manager. This role sits within the Systems Protection Business Unit and offers the opportunity to lead impactful New Product Introduction (NPI) initiatives in a dynamic, global environment that fosters career growth, innovation, and collaboration.
Job Description
The Senior R&D Engineering Project Manager will oversee multiple large-scale New Product Introduction projects, primarily supporting the Cooling Department with additional support provided to the Enclosures Department. This position leads cross-functional teams through a structured stage-gate process to ensure timely and successful product launches.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Leading teams through the New Product Introduction process (Discover, Develop, Deploy, and Launch) to deliver products on schedule.
  • Driving, coordinating, and maintaining project schedules while partnering with engineers and designers on product design activities.
  • Directing external activities such as regulatory compliance and third-party testing.
  • Leading cross-functional teams as the central point of coordination across Project Management, Engineering, Operations, Supply, ISC, Quality, and Compliance for both branded platform products and customer-specific engineered solutions.
  • Managing a portfolio of projects to ensure they remain on track, escalating roadblocks as needed.
  • Identifying, tracking, and mitigating risks early through structured risk planning strategies.
  • Tracking Project Portfolio KPIs and driving continuous improvement to reduce product development cycle time.
  • Fostering a collaborative team environment with open communication, problem identification, and effective resolution.
  • Promoting knowledge sharing to strengthen technical depth, ensure adaptable operational support, and enable process improvements.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • 7+ years of related engineering experience, including a minimum of 3+ years in project management and/or leading teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 tools, including SharePoint, Teams, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide work direction to teams to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and collaboration.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to establish a team environment focused on problem-solving and resolution.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 10% domestically, with the potential for international travel.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with the Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence) for backlog management, progress tracking, and reporting.
  • Prior experience managing New Product Introduction (NPI) projects within a stage-gate framework.
  • Background in the electrical, enclosures, cooling, or systems protection industries.
