Sr. Staff Accountant Job Description:
Our Accounting and Finance team is going through a systems migration. As we prepare for the move to a new Oracle Cloud platform, we are performing a series of data validations to prepare data for the new system.  We need someone with Excel skills and some prior experience (work or schooling) in accounting that is comfortable working with large sets of data to perform validation testing. Between validation cycles, we would like the candidate to assist our team with other basic accounting functions as assigned. Will report directly to the Accounting Manager.  Is responsible for ensuring the validation of data to confirm the data is accurate and conforms to migration requirements.
What you’ll do as a Sr. Staff Accountant:
- Reconcile to ensure system sales to customers are properly invoiced and revenue accounted accurately by adaptive reconciliations that are scalable to accommodate sales growth.
- Address any customers’ disputes or queries relating to the customers system sales invoices by researching and revising the billed amounts as necessary.
- Work with the Retail Costco Customer Escalation team to resolve any customer issues related to invoices for systems purchased through Costco channel.
- Reconcile to ensure that loan receipts from lenders are complete and accurate in lieu of payments from customers.
- Review that the lenders fees charged by all the financing institutions for customers financed by loan are accurate before approving the wire payment.
- Manipulate and reconcile large volumes of data in Excel from sources such as Oracle and Salesforce and perform monthly reconciliations and prepare entries to correct discrepancies.
- Assist in timely and accurate AR sub ledger close and month end close.
-Â Â Assist with projects and other ad hoc accounting duties as required
- Pull, structure and analyze large datasets, with data coming from a variety of
sources including but not limited to Oracle, Salesforce
What you’ll bring to the Sr. Staff Accountant role:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience; public accounting experience preferred
- Minimum of 8 years experience in accounting
- Knowledge of operating and reporting structures and financial policies and
procedures
- Experience with large datasets (400,000 line items)
- Must be results-oriented with an ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Interested in building the skills to identify problems and discrepancies, independently perform research and analysis of causes, and recommend corrective actions
- Ability to evaluate priorities and multi-task accordingly
- Strong knowledge of Excel required
- Knowledge of Oracle Applications-R12 preferred
