Shareholder Accountant Job Description
The Shareholder Finance and Customer Service Representative (SFCSR) supports the company by managing the annual crop cycle of the shareholder from contracting through final payment.  The SFR helps the company reach its mission by tracking and recording the annual crop information, assisting with general ledger responsibilities, and communicating with shareholders on financial matters.

What you’ll do as the Shareholder Accountant:
  • Coordinate deferred beet, deferred haul, pre-pile, unit retain, beet, cover crop, and hauling allowance payments
  • Maintain direct deposit and lienholder information
  • Track changes and update payment information accordingly
  • Set up payment split files and enter deferments
  • Enter accounts receivables and ensure shareholders have access to the Shareholder Portal
  • Coordinate the testing of annual contracting, mailing lease notification letters, conducting preliminary and final reconciliation of shares, leases, and contracts, uploading contracts, and mailing certifications
  • Collaborate with shareholders on harvest activities, including registering trucks, printing field cards, ordering harvest supplies, mailing deferment letters, processing harvest beet loads, issuing ticket corrections, making dirt adjustments, and sending out final delivery records/production history
  • Collaborate with the agricultural staff and shareholders to input beet seed varieties and pricing, post to accounts receivable to create files, coordinate beet seed returns, and reconcile seed invoicing
  • Mail projected payment schedules and deferred payment information for prepayments
  • Provide hauling allowance sheets to agricultural staff
What you’ll bring to the Shareholder Accountant role:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, or a related field
  • Ability to work in a responsible, safe manner by adhering to the company’s safety protocol
  • Ability to provide important financial information to shareholders across crop inputs, and production results
  • Comply with all industry rules and regulations
  • General understanding of accounting principles
  • Knowledge and familiarity working with contracts, leases, stock transfers, and shares
  • Ability to perform mathematical computations such as percentages, fractions, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to operate computerized accounting and spreadsheet programs
  • Ability to create formulas, pivot tables, and graphs using Microsoft Excel
