Job Description

The Financial Analyst is responsible for providing accounting and financial analysis to support daily operations and overall business decisions and assisting in short and long term financial planning for the institution. They develops and maintains spreadsheets and statistical models, prepares a variety of financial reports, and acts as an internal consultant for all levels of management. They have a strong ability to collaborate and communicate effectively across business units and act as an advisor across the organization.

Core Responsibilities
  • Analyze financial reports, translate them into concise summaries for management and effectively communicate and collaborate on data.
  • Monitor risk which may have an impact on the company’s financial results.
  • Collaborate with business units to advance the company’s reporting capabilities and improve accuracy of the data.
  • Research, identify and implement new approaches and methods to facilitate cost management.
  • Ensure consistency of approach related to analysis techniques, key findings, and system utilization.
  • Develop and prepare departmental scorecards and dashboards showing high-level results and trends.
  • Maintain relationships with and provide reporting and analytical support to business units.
  • Provide timely, relevant and accurate reporting and analysis of the results of the company’s performance against historical, budgeted, forecasted and strategic planning results to facilitate decision-making toward the achievement of the budget and strategic plan.
  • Maintain and develop various financial models and standard templates, ensuring quality, accuracy and focused analytic review.
  • Make recommendations concerning investments.
  • Provide analytical support for forward-looking financial and business-related projects.
  • Assist in reconciliation of internal accounts.
  • Optimize use of financial systems.
  • Research and resolve problems and errors in data from financial reporting systems.
  • Prepare interest rate pricing and forecasting information for use in asset and liability management.

  • Uses in-depth understanding of financial systems and processes to create and maintain efficient, effective methods for managing financial information.

  • Identifies the information needed to rectify a situation and seeks information from appropriate sources by using a logical and systematic approach.
  • Recognizes what needs to be done and takes action without prompting when necessary to ensure smooth operations and consistent service delivery.
  • Develops, maintains, and strengthens partnerships with others inside and outside the bank so it’s possible to provide information, assistance, and support effectively.
