Sr. Software Engineer

Job Description
- Worksite Location: Brooklyn Park, MN
- Hours: Primarily Monday - Friday, 40 - 50 hours
The primary role of this position is responsibility for the development of new software applications for CPS. This includes reviewing code that subordinates have written to ensure it works correctly and researching the most up-to-date techniques in software design. In addition, the Principal Software Engineer spends time communicating progress on software development to subordinates, project managers, and business analysts; they must be able to discuss implementation in terms and conditions that the individual less familiar with software development can understand.
What you’ll do as a Principal Software Engineer:
- Scope out designs of new applications and enhancements to existing products for internal and external users at Comprehensive Pharmacy Services (CPS)
- Develop and maintain custom applications for CPS departments and back-end operations
- Execute daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports for internal users and external clients
- Work with departments on refining their output needs to reduce time and cost and assist with the distribution of the reports
- Provide ongoing technical support to users on how applications operate, resolving coding issues and better ways to do an action in supported custom applications
- Produce training materials, system documentation, and conduct training classes for end users on our system and applications
- Review new technologies and products to further enhance or streamline business operations
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or in lieu of, extensive work experience in a computer science-related field
- Experience and knowledge of various computer codes, including Java, NET, and C#
- Proficiency with coding schemes specific to ASP.NET, MVC, C#, VB.NET, HTML5, JavaScript
- Experience working with SQL and TFS
- Experience with computer programming and systems/database analysis
- Demonstrated ability to work with Business groups to define requirements and project goals
