On-site Location: Chicago, IL (near Midway airport - free parking)
Compensation: $60,000-$80,000 annually

What you’ll do as an Accountant:

Oversee financial aspects of contracts, including billing, invoicing, and ensuring adherence to contract terms
Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
Perform regular bank reconciliations to verify the accuracy and integrity of financial data
Assist in the preparation of project budgets and forecasts, providing financial insights and recommendations
Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, laws, and regulations within the construction industry
Collaborate with project managers, vendors, and other stakeholders to address financial inquiries and provide necessary support
Implement and maintain cost accounting systems to track project expenses, analyze variances, and ensure accurate project costing
Monitor and report on cost trends, providing insights to support cost-saving initiatives and optimize project profitability

What you’ll bring to the Accountant role:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field
2-5+ years of experience as a Staff Accountant
Experience in construction accounting, project accounting, job costing, or a related industry is highly preferred
Proficiency in accounting software (such as QuickBooks, Oracle Netsuite, or similar) and Microsoft Excel
