Tax Manager

- Compensation: $95,000-$120,000 per year
- Employment type: Direct Hire

The Tax Manager is responsible for the efficient, accurate, complete, and timely preparation of all client tax returns. This individual will possess advanced technical skills in a variety of tax and accounting areas, along with well-developed management and supervisory skills.
What a Tax Manager will do:
- Perform technical tax review of all tax returns (individual, business, trust, gift, not-for-profit, and miscellaneous)
- Identify and manage issues and ensures the accuracy of the tax return
- Assume responsibility for smooth flow of tax returns through the tax preparation system to assure accurate, complete, and timely preparation and delivery of all clients’ tax returns
- Perform tax research to resolve issues identified during reviews
- Develop tax preparation procedures to increase efficiency and effectiveness of the process
- Assist in recruiting, performance evaluations, developing training aids, and acting as an instructor in professional development programs
- Assume client service responsibility for clients the tax manager works with directly, or where the responsibility is delegated from the partner.
- Supervise the use of ProSystem tax software, communicate updates to be installed, resolve issues and answers questions related to using the software
- Supervises electronic filing of tax forms and ensures timely resolution of issues
What you’ll bring to the Tax Manager role:
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; or Master’s degree in Taxation
- 6+ years of experience in public accounting, demonstrating a progression in tax return complexity, scope, and research
- 1+ years of experience supervising and directing work of tax preparers
- Valid certified public accountant’s license; or a current and valid enrolled agent license
- Proficiency in tax research skills
